Summary: My arts practice celebrates individuality, expressivity and being in the moment. I ensure that all projects support artistic, social, health and well being needs of the people with whom I work. Therefore, I work collaboratively, reflecting and evaluating practice and engagement. Individual progression and learning are at the fore of my practice, with artistic process and aesthetic outcomes nurtured, sustaining high quality community arts engagement.

I can deliver one off workshops in schools, supporting cross arts and cross-curricular learning. Engage youths who are unsure of their placement in their immediate community and wider society. Nurture and inspire youth dance and performance company groups. Tailor projects for people with mental health illness. Along with a vast dedication to the relevance and quality of the arts in the health and well being sector. Particularly for children with life limiting illness, adults with dementia and Parkinson’s disease.

For me, dance is a form of expression and communication. It is a powerful and liberating tool, which can bring people and communities together. With this belief, dance is used to enrich artistic engagement with all people, from all community groups, abilities and health care needs. Everybody is able to express and feel, and my enjoyment is to facilitate this movement journey. Be it as choreographer, director, mentor, tutor and dancer.

Experience: I have worked as a community dance artist for 10 years, with university lecturing interspersed throughout the years. Lecturing at E15 Acting School, Loughton, teaching Choreological Studies and introductory movement. Lecturer in Community Dance Practice and Contemporary Release Technique at UCS. Adult Contemporary Technique tutor at Trinity Laban Conservatoire for Music and Dance. Community Dance Artist at DanceEast and Technique Tutor for the DanceEast’s Centre for Advanced Training.

Independent project writer and movement facilitator for Open Arts Mental Health Charity (SEPT) and Lead Artist for Dance Digital Future Network programme and health and well being schools programme.

Educator for CPD events in cross-curricular learning in Primary education. Along with professional ways in to dance (for professionals) entering into the health and well being sector, focusing on child oncology.

I worked as key dance facilitator at Colchester Hospital and East Anglia’s Children’s Hospice.

Mentor for choreographic projects and installations for local artists and project writer for independent arts collaborations.

I work as lead artist for The Dance Network Association and Active Essex programme, working on mass-choreography projects.

Finally, I am an inaugural member of The Knowing Body Network, driving research and development within the health and well being sector, supporting practice and educational excellence. 

Qualifications: BA (HONS) Dance Theatre and Post Graduate in Community Dance, Obtained at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.

Art forms: Visual Artist

Summary: I specialise in community and school art projects including murals, ceramics, drawing, mixed media, environmental works and school ground design. I work with all ages and levels of experience from nursery, primary and secondary aged children through to family groups and adults of all ages and abilities. I aim to facilitate the work of others so that the process is satisfying and meaningful whilst ensuring that their creativity is retained in the final high quality work. I enjoy the challenge of working with new materials and groups. I also provide training in school ground development through my role as an accredited trainer for the school grounds charity Learning Through Landscapes (LTL).

Experience: Since 2000 I have been working in the East of England on a wide range of workshops, projects and artist in residence programmes. Clients have included over 40 schools and children’s centres, district and county councils and local and national charities. As an accredited trainer for LTL I have delivered training and facilitation on national school ground development programmes. I have project managed and led a range of large projects including an award winning school garden in King’s Lynn and since 2009 a Heritage Lottery Funded community project for the Woodland Trust.

Cambridgeshire Library Service (Cambridgeshire Community Archive Network)(2005 – 2008)  Working with four primary schools, a special school, a youth group and  6 local community groups using local history images to create new art works with children.

Forward & Futures ‘800 years of King’s Lynn’ mural (2004) Research, design & painting a 112m2 mural for a town centre location with a local charity.

Text Collector II –Artist-in Residence – A Year of the Artist, EAB and European funded community arts project (2000) based in Downham Market, Norfolk. Text (poems, stories etc.) were used to inspire art work (collage, painting, film, public art etc) made with and by local people. This culminated in an exhibition.

Summary: I am a Professional Storyteller with over thirty years experience in education and performance. My performances and workshops enhance:

Stories from many cultures are shared with music.
Sessions are carefully and appropriately differentiated.

Sessions are very interactive, rhythmical and sprinkled with rhyme.

The language is rich and the narrative expertly crafted.
There is always singing and music making, and the setting is delightfully colourful.

Children and adults will be inspired and the sessions will encourage imaginations to fly.

Summary: I am a stained glass artist working mainly to commission while offering a variety of workshops for adults and children, using the medium of stained glass in a way accessible to all ages and abilities.

Qualifications: Initial Tutor Training, Norfolk County I have been teaching stained glass as an adult education tutor in Stradbroke since 1997 and in Diss since 1999. Although trained as anarchitect, I have been practising as a professional stained glass artist for many years. I have been involved in projects with a variety of schools and arts and crafts groups, as well as running workshops with playgroups, schools and the John Groom Court residents, in conjunction with a project in the grounds of Blickling Hall.

Projects: Scarning Primary School – led workshops to produce panels for the newassembly hall (see image) Dereham Leisure Centre – led four workshops in surrounding villages;results then displayed in time for the opening of the new Leisure Centre, and in conjunction with a competition run by Breckland Council (see image) Stalham “Dragons” summer activity scheme – led workshops for a joint project of a giant dragon which I designed and made up in clear glass, filled in with coloured glass by the children Stalham Arts and Crafts group – ongoing work to produce panels for the community John Grooms Court – led workshops with residents in conjunction with a sitooterie for Blickling Hall Snape Maltings – adults workshops Bergh Apton – adults workshops Gissing Children’s Centre – workshops for playgroups and youth club Quaker Meeting House Norwich – workshop with asylum seekers
